A Natural Escape

Enjoy the magic that nature and the ocean has to offer in Captiva Island. You will surely enjoy the views and memories that come with this place, whether you’re looking for things to do or simply wanting to relax and let time pass by.

Captiva Island

Captiva Island is said to be the less commercial of the two islands. There is not as much road and foot traffic on Captiva Island, making it a very relaxing vacation for adults and children alike

Outdoor Activities

There are many activities that one can enjoy while visiting Captiva Island, as well as Sanibel. Fishing is a popular activity on both islands with charter fishing, deep sea fishing, or light-tackle fishing. There are also numerous bike paths to choose from whether you want to ride along the beach, through nature, woods or take advantage of Sanibel’s dominant bike culture along Periwinkle Way, which is the main street that connects the island.

Wildlife

Captiva is also a popular destination for birding. The island provides an ideal habitat because of the plentiful mangrove, which is a breeding ground for birds. Captiva is home to some of the more popular birds, such as Great Egrets, Snowy Egrets, Reddish Egrets, and more. If you want to see these animals in their natural environment, make sure to take a tour during nesting season.
